SOS Children's Villages Azerbaijan Association was founded in 1999 according to the agreement signed between SOS Children’s Village International and Azerbaijan government. The main purpose of the organization is to provide family based care to the children deprived from parental care as well as to implement different activities that are aimed to provide children the social welfare. Currently number of social and educational projects are successfully being implemented within SOS Children's Village Baku and Ganja branches.

SOS Children’s Villages Azerbaijan is implementing Child Protection Policy based on UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Donor Services and Communication Officer

The Donor Services and Communication Officer (DSCO) is the main point of contact with international sponsors and donors in the national association. DSCO guides a network of sponsorship co-workers at programme level, develop annual plans and follow up on them. DSCO’s customer-oriented approach, combined with their inspiring and professional reporting towards sponsors, play an important role in sponsor retention and loyalty. On-going quality monitoring, the implementation of international plans and projects as well as the expansion towards a stewardship approach to our donors are a key success factors for donor services worldwide. 

DSCO positions SOS Children’s Villages as a strong partner among potential and existing supporters based on SOS Children’s Villages roots, vision, mission and values. 

DSCO provides the communication expertise to the fundraising team. 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The DSCO is responsible for the Support Fundraising activities by pursuing opportunities to externally promote the Member Association’s fundraising campaigns and activities in order to increase the public recognition and foster a positive image, strengthen brand awareness, credibility and acceptance. 

He/she develops an external communications strategy in alignment with the overall MA management strategy and positioning and with the 3-years fundraising strategy, plan, monitor, evaluate and analyse the external communication activities.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities: 

  • Communicates with sponsors and donors and is their main point of contact: Designs messages directed at sponsors and donors and writes exciting, honest and inspiring messages for them
  • Acts as intermediary between sponsors and children or programmes to safeguard the respective rights and interest of both groups
  • Oversees, organises and manages sponsorship work in the country and assures/monitors quality 
  • Implements and follows up on international project aimed towards increasing the level of service quality and stewardship towards donors and sponsors
  • Builds, trains and guides a team of sponsorship co-workers at programme level
  • Trains and guides other staff involved in sponsorship activities
  • Responsible to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
  • Carries out Child Safeguarding (CS) risk assessment within his/her sphere of responsibility and ensures that relevant actions are put in place to mitigate existing and possible CS risks
  • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to respective line manager.
  • Accompany fundraising campaigns, support fundraising colleagues with expertise for external communications and adaptation of content for all channels, online and offline
  • Draft and alignment of a concept and plan of external communication measures based on a thorough analysis of the status quo of external communication, of the public perception of the organisation in the country, and in alignment with the management strategy and the 3-years fundraising strategy. Implementation, evaluation and if needed quick adaptation of the plan

YOUR PROFILE:

  • University degree – Major in Marketing, PR, Linguistics, Journalism is preferable; 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in SMM/ Copywriting/ Marketing/ PR position;
  • Good knowledge of Storytelling;
  • Previous experience with multinational/NGO companies;
  • Strategic, analytical and process thinking abilities;
  • Experience in organizational development or change processes;
  • Ability to develop concepts and capability of presenting information in clear and logical manner;
  • Ability to work under high pressure;
  • Fluent Azeri, English, Russian;
  • Strong inter-personal skills;
  • Creativity;
  • Team Player;
  • Computer literacy (MS Office);
  • Knowledge of design programs is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Full time employment contract- V days; 09:00- 18:00
  • Area - Baku city
  • Salary – 900-1050 AZN (Will be determined during the final interview)
  • Registration of employees according to the labor legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
